A TANTALIZING FILMING COMPLETE

A Tantalizing, a feature film, starring Broadway legend John Cullum and Shareen Mitchell has wrapped production.

The screenplay written by Shareen Mitchell, is an adaptation of the one act play, A Tantalizing by William Mastrosimone.

The two-hander is directed by Katie Prael, and produced by Two Sisters Media. The film was shot over 15 days in Manhattan. Mr. Cullum’s role is described as a tour de force.

Cullum is best known for his acclaimed stage performances in Shenandoah (1975) and On the Twentieth Century (1978), earning him a Tony Award for each. Notably, he gained his first Tony nomination in 1966 for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. In recent years, Cullum received Tony nods for Urinetown the Musical (2002) and as Best Featured Actor in the revival of 110 in the Shade (2007). Beyond the stage, Cullum made a mark in television, notably Northern Exposure, earning an Emmy Award nomination, ER, and key roles in The Day After and Madam Secretary, and The Middle.  His recent film credits include Jungleland and Love is Strange, Simchas and Sorrows. 

Mitchell is a member of The famed Actors Studio. Her credits include American Heart, Brooklyn Roses, What’s Cooking, as well as countless TV guest stars and leads. She was a series regular on Hudson Street and recurred on Boy Meets World. Mitchell has authored a new musical now in development with WitzEnd Productions. She is also the star and subject of reality show Dresscue Me at Shareen Vintage, produced by The World of Wonder. 

Cullum is represented by Jeff Berger Management and Kraditor & Haber. Mitchell is represented by 2B Entertainment and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. Prael is represented by Innovative Artists.

Spent the summer, into the fall working with this amazing crew. 5 strong, smart, talented, committed actresses and one young actor, all of them brilliant. River Time is written and directed by Katherine Cortez. Her work as both writer and director gifted us in immeasurable and palpable ways. The production was hugely successful and the work, for us all, rich and transformative.

I am proud to announce that I have been invited to be a member of the Writers and Directors Unit of the Actors Studio.

My new play Eulogy was given its first reading on March the 15th with a stellar cast of 8 including Sylva Kelegian, Peter Gregory, Nelson Avidon, Stella Pulo, Steven Hauck, Lawrence Stallings and Kumiko Konishi and myself.

We had the privilege of being directed by Ron Beverly.

Eulogy is an 8 character play that considers what it is we leave behind and what we value in friendship. It explores the issue of financial equity and what is fair.

“Code Name Triumph”, written and performed by Shareen Mitchell, directed by Amy E. Jones, is a one act, one woman show, developed at The Actors Studio. In this touching and funny play, an imaginative, plucky and courageous nine year old shares how it is she manages her daily escape from an abusive home in order to get to the safety of school.

BROOKLYN ROSES

Shareen Mitchell stars as “Dolly” in “Brooklyn Roses” a gorgeous and award winning Docu-Feature 2018/2019 “ Brooklyn Roses” was shot over a 10 year period. It marks Mitchell’s debut on film and then her work 10 years prior. Director, Film maker Christine Noschese tells the story of her mother, a 1950’s housewife who fought for her own freedom and the creative freedom of her daughter. An early feminist, her story is a profound reminder of the courage and sacrifice of earlier generations of women on behalf of us all.
